Harbhajan Accuses Jet Airways Pilot of Assault and Racial Abuse

April 26 : Harbhajan Singh in a tweet today accused an expat pilot with Jet Airways, Bernd Hoesslin of hurling racist comment at a passenger and physically assaulting a lady on flight.

“So called this Bernd Hoesslin a pilot with @jetairways called my fellow Indian(u bloody Indian get out of my flight) while he is earning here, Singh tweeted.

“Not only was he racist, but physically assaulted a lady and abused a physically challenged man… a… absolutely disgraceful and shame on @jetairways,” the cricketer continued.

The incident occurred on a flight from Chandigarh to Mumbai on April 3. When Pooja Singh Gujral, a marketing professional, waited alongside her friend Jatinder Shah for his customized wheelchair.

The flight that was already delayed owing to internal issues and the raging pilot stormed out of the cockpit and screamed at Shah for bringing in his personal wheelchair. When Pooja intervened to pacify , the pilot allegedly ‘pushed her’ shouting “Get out of my flight” tagging it with the racist comment ‘bloody indian’

Others from the crew is said to have apologized for the pilot’s temperament, but the pilot stayed unfazed.

Recalling the bitter experience after  playing for the Mumbai Indians in the ongoing Indian Premier League  where he claimed his 200th T20 wicket against Rising Pune Supergiant on Monday, Singh is in no mood to condone.

‘Such things will not be allowed or tolerated in the country” he affirmed in the tweet and has appealed to PM Narendra Modi to initiate necessary action against the pilot.
