Search for missing 4-year-old intensifies; SIT formed, NDRF joins in

Pananthur : A team from The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) will join search for the missing 4-year-old Sana Fathima even as  authorities set up a Special Investigation Team to trace the child.

The child disappeared from her home premises, had just returned from Anganwadi around 4 pm on Thursday. Sana’s footwear and umbrella were retrieved from the drain giving rise to fears that she might have slipped into the drain and got carried away further down into the river.

A search inside and along nearby Chandragiri river until late night on the same day yielded no clue.

District collector K Jeevan Babu said scuba cameras, capaciated to capture images over hundred meters under water, will be deployed in Bappunkayam river to eliminate drowning possibility.

The possibility of abduction has not been ruled out and police are questioning residents in the area. Four woman living nomadic have been also been questioned.
