Massive flooding in Bihar has taken 341 lives so far. Around 146.19 lakh in 19 districts have been affected, the Bihar Disaster Mgt Department stated.
Major rivers breached banks carrying with it hundreds of flimsy shacks and damaging buildings, roads, bridges and crops worth crores of rupees.
Thousands fled homes and took to lofty structures like school buildings and embankments.
According to an official release, 7.61,774 people have been evacuated to safe places by rescue teams from the Army, the National Disaster Response Force and State Disaster Response Force, while government set up 1,085 relief camps in which 2,29,097 people are living.
1608 community kitchens too have been set up, the official said.
