New Delhi : Taking ‘moral responsibility’ following yesterday’s repeat disaster on rails, with Kafiyat Express becoming the 2nd train to be thrown off the tracks in a week’s time, the railway minister Suresh Pabhu has offered to resign.
It has been reliably learnt that PM Narendra Modi signaled to pause the resignation for the moment.
“I met the Hon’ble Prime Minister and take full moral responsibility” tweeted Prabhu.

The First Derailment
On Saturday 19 August, Kalinga Utkal derailed with huge impact that send its once coach mounted on another and a separate one run into a nearby building, The accident left 23 dead and over 400 injured and the probe suspects violation of guidelines in works on tracks to be the cause, though an affirmation has not been made yet.
The latest Tragedy
On Tuesday again, Kafiyat Express’s engine and five coaches derailed near Anuraiyya district of Uttar Pradesh(UP) injuring 70 passengers. The train hit a dumper at crossing between Achalada and pata villages derailing B2, H1, A1, A2 and S10 coaches.
