Honeypreet, Insan Missing; Will Arrest Them Soon says Haryana Police

Chandigarh ,HARYANA : Two key functionaries of jailed cult leader Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh remain elusive even as police intensified  their raids in Mumbai and regions adjoining Nepal.

Haryana Director General of Police BS Sandhu said “We hope to arrest them soon”.  Police are in touch with security forces in other States as well, he added.

On Sept 1 the Haryana Police issued lookout notice for Honeypreet Insan and Aditya Insan apprehensive of their possible fleeing the country.

On 28 August, soon after conviction, there allegedly took place a conspiracy involving select followers and escorting policeman to help Gurmeet escape from police hands.

A newspaper reporter made a statement in the context and named Aditya and Sunrinder Dhiman, ardent Gurmeet followers, as mastermind.

Five policemen too have been dismissed from service related to the incident and slapped with sedition charges.

Police said Honeypreet would be subject to questioning along with Aditya to unfurl the plot, when nabbed.

50-year-old chief of Dera Sacha Sauda cult, was sentenced to 20 years of imprisonment by CBI court for 2002 rapes of his two female disciples. Honeypreet, his ‘adopted daughter’ was seen alongside the Godman while being ferried in the helicopter to jail in Rohtak  Honeypreet is viewed by many as successor to Dera, with the Godman put away for two decades.
