Chennai, TAMIL NADU : The AIADMK on Tuesday removed ‘permanent secretary’ VK Sasikala from her post of General Secretary of the party and set up a steering committee to lead the party.
The high-level body led by party presidium chairman E Madhusoodhannan passed 12 resolutions, one of which said “Appointment of Sasikala is cancelled. All her activities between Dec 30 and Feb 15, including appointments, sackings and inclusions are invalid”
Rajya Sabha member R Vaithillingam read out the resolution which was seconded by all general council members.
It was also resolved to have the steering committee led by corrdinator O Panneerselvam and joint coordinator Edappadi K Palaniswami, KP Munusamy and R Vaithillingam as deputy coordinators.
The office-bearers appointed by late chief minister J Jayalalithaa however would continue to hold their posts, clarified the resolution.
