Angamaly : The Angamaly Magistrate Court rejected Dileep’s 4th bail plea accepting prosecution argument that rape charges as applicable to Pulsar Suni is valid for him too.
Hearing on Dileep’s plea was complete Saturday with remand extended until September 28.
Dileep’s advocate argued that highest charge against him is conspiracy that attracts a 10-yr-term, however more than 60 days in jail without trial makes him eligible for natural bail.
Prosecution however stalled the move citing that rape/gang-rape charges will apply and hence the custody term should continue for atleast 90-days for chargesheeting the actor.
Earlier, prosecution had prevented the bail in High Court twice citing influential powers the accused wields to manipulate witnesses and destroy evidence.
Dileep was arrested on 10 July in connection with the sensational case where a popular Malayalam actress was waylaid and sexually and gangraped in a moving car on 17 Feb.
