Kochi Metro will extend to Maharajas today, 10.30 am

Kochi : Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will flag off  Kochi  Metro’s first run between Palarivattom and Maharajas College ground at 10.30 am from Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Kaloor Kochi.

A brief ceremony will be held at Ernakulam Town Hall in presence of Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri and the service will stand inaugurated when CM declares it at the function.

From 12 at noon, the service will resume normal with extended stretch up to Mharajas, said Kochi Metro Rail Ltd(KMRL)

Metro services in the entire stretch will be available between 6 am to 10 pm from tomorrow.

Several activists, political party representatives will attend the Town Hall ceremony. Prominent names include opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala, Mayor Soumini Jain, Prof K V Thomas MP, DMRC chief advisor Dr. E Sreedharan, KMRL managing director Alias George.

The fare from Aluva to Maharajas College is Rs. 50.
