Wildfires in California destroy 1500 buildings, 10 dead

Massive wildfires fueled by powerful winds swept through northern Californiaovernight destroying at least 1500 buildings and leaving 10 dead.

More than hundred people have been rushed to hospitals in fire-related incidents.

Thousands of people fled the place with power, state officials said.

Governor Jerry Brown declared an emergency in eight counties and Federal Emergency Mgt Agency has swung into action to fight fires that are still raging high.

About 20,000 residents have been evacuated as firefighters are battling blazes in eight counties.
