Honeypreet remanded in judicial custody till 23 Oct

A court in Panchkula today remanded Honepreet Insan, the heir apparent to jailed Godman Gurmeet Ram Rahim’s cult Saucha Sauda, till 23 October.

She is being investigated for her role in violence and arson that spread in Panchkula on 25 August when Gurmeet was pronounced guilty, allegedly in a bid to help him escape from police hold.

Hoenpreet, who calls herself Gurmeet’s adopted daughter has completed nine-days in police remand, and was produced in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Rohit Watts under tight security.

Honeypreet and top aid Sukdeep are both been extended into remand term until 23rd this mongh and will be lodged in Ambala central jail.

Honepreet and Sukhdeep Kaur were arrested from Zirakpur-Patiala road in Punjab on 3 October.

Her name features in the FIR against charges of sedition and inciting violence, the police said.

She is said to have provided incriminating evidence so far, they added

Dera chief Gurmeet was sentenced to 20 years in jail for raping two of his female devotees. Other allegations of mass castrations , rape and murders at the Dera too are being looked into.
