IPS Exam Cheating Case : Officer’s Wife and Baby Shifted to Jail
Chennai: Joicy Joy, wife of IPS officer Safeer Karim presently in custody for cheating in civil services exam, has been arrested and produced in court on Tuesday.
Their one-year-old breast-fed baby girl has been shifted to Puzhal jail in Chennai.
While Sameer used Bluetooth to copy answers to questions in the main exam, Joicy was at other end dictating it up. The exam was held at Chennai Presidency Girls Higher Secondary School.
Joicy was arrested in Hyderabad on Tuesday and has admitted to her role which she said was to fulfill wish to score high rank in the Civil Exams.
Incidentally, Safeer scored 112 rank in 2014 Civil Service Examinations and will be terminated from service.
He had been under probation as Assistant Superintendent of Police in Tirunelveli district at the time of his arrest.
Police now suspect similar cheating to have been done during prelims too.
In the laptop recovered at his place, police found question papers to ISRO appointment and kerala PSC exam. His sister has taken the ISRO test.
Meanwhile, the Home Ministry has sought a report on the incident.
