Thiruvananthapuram : Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan reportedly summoned Minister Thomas Chandy following disclosure of collector report.
In the meeting that barely lasted a few minutes, Pinarayi is said to have told Chandy that the report reveals gross violations and makes situation worse.
The collector, in his report, had affirmed there tookplace illegal encroachment of Marthandam backwater, land leveling in front of minister’s private property the Lake Palace Resort, land filling to develop parking slot and a few violations of similar nature.
In another development, the vigilance court has directed for quick investigations into the allegations.
Meanwhile CM has sought legal advice from Advocate General against the backdrop of collector’s report.
In coming Assembly session Chandy’s case will prove to be a defensive for the opposition caught up in the Solar scam implications for its members.
According to sources, AK Saseendran is on the forefront to occupy Chandy’s portfolio if the mired minister is forced to resign.
