Actress Thodupuzha Vasanti Passes Away, Aged 65

THODUPUZHA:  Film and theatre artiste Thodupuzha Vasanthi died here early Tuesday morning after battling throat cancer for a while. She was 65. The end came at a private hospital in Vazhakkulam at 4.30 am  today.

Earlier, owing to complications of high diabetes Vasanti’s leg was amputated.
Vasanti has been shuttling between her home in Thodupuzha and hospital for past one year.

The funeral will be held today evening in the premises of her brother’s house in Thodupuzha this evening.
Vasanti is a household name and has acted in over 450 films in diverse supporting roles..

She entered films through Ente Neelakasham, a film  released in 1976.

Vasanti last worked in Ithu Thanda Police in 2016.

K G George’s Yavanika was a turning point where her role as Rajamma gained her a string of roles each year later.

Her notable casts included films Aalolam, Novemberinte Nashtram, Godfather and Karyam Nisaram

Her love for theatre came from her father who was a stage actor. Laer Vasanti approached Udaya Studio and took to films.
