“Love Jihad” probe : Hadiya speaks with Jahan via Dean’s phone

Salem : “Hadiya appears to have been relieved of her depression after speaking with Jahan(Shafin) from my mobile phone” said the dean of the Homeopathy Medical College, where she is pursuing her 11-month internship after Supreme Court granted her wish to continue studies but refused to send her along with ‘husband’ Shafin Jahan.
“As her local guardian, I asked if she was interested in talking or meeting anybody” the dean G Kannan told the media.

The dean also said she applied for internship by her maiden name Akhila Ashokan.

The 25-year-old was brought into the college amid tight security and part of her state safe arrangements includes one Sub-Inspector and four constables round-the-clock.

Hadiya’s father Ashokan had opposed to her conversion to Islam and approached the court saying terror outfits were planning to transport his daughter to Syria.

Amid hearing dates on the case, Akhila got married to Shafin Jahan after conversion to Islam.

High court later annulled the marriage and send her to custody of her parents and approved a NIA probe.

Shafin meanwhile petitioned the apex court to stay the annulment and  quash the NIA probe.
