After battering Kerala and Tamil Nadu, Cyclone Ockhi has left the shores of a ravaged Lakshadweep last night to recurv e towards coast of Gujarat.
Following the development, govt in Gujarat has issued warnings to the fishing community for vigil from tomorrow, Dec 4.
Earlier today, fishermen, tourists and coastal residents in Karnataka have been advised to stay far off the sea for next 48 hours.
Ockhi has so far claimed at least 13 lives and scores of fishermen still missing at sea.
The Tamil Nadu govt on Sunday requested Centre to deploy Indian Navy aircrafts to intensify search for missing fishermen, mostly from Kanyakumari.
Meanwhile Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has urged Centre to declare Ockhi as a national calamity.
