Wadakkanchery native Printo has been arrested in connection with cyber bullying, police said.

Parvathy had criticised prejudiced mindset against women in Malayalam movies while speaking at an Open Forum of the recently concluded International Film Festival of Kerala(IFFK).

Following the event, the actress was viciously trolled and heaped abuses, on social media by groups claiming to be ardent Mamootty fans.

Some posts went so far as to threaten her.

Parvathy lodged a complaint with Kochi Range IG P Vijayan, at whose instructions, Ernakulam South CI Sibi Tom probed into the incident and registered an FIR.

Police has forwarded requests to Facebook and Google, for details pertaining to identities of the persons who made the offensive posts.

The film fraternity is divided on their view of Parvathy’s stance. While some downplayed her comments others strongly opposed her views.

Meanwhile actors Rima Kallingal and Geethu Mohandas now face social media wrath for standing by Parvathy.
