Thiruvananthapuram : The central govt on Wednesday announced a primary package totalling Rs, 133 core towards relief fund for Ockhi-hit Kerala.
The fund has been disbursed today itself, additional Secretary to Union Home Ministry Vipin Malik said.
A team from centre had visited the capital to assess damages left behind by the disaster that struck southern districs of Kerala and Tamil Nadu on Nov 30.
UDF leaders had met with the visiting team members and sought package for implementing permanent safety measures in the coastal stretch to limit damage.
The team will conduct a similar evaluation at Ernakulam too shortly.
Cyclone Ockhi has killed at least 74 persons and several who went on fishing boats are still missing.
