Son of a top CPM leader from Kerala has been charged with cheating case amounting to Rs. 13 crore in Dubai.
According to sources, the investigators are seeking Interpol help to arrest him.
The case was registered following a complaint made by Dubai-based travel and tourism firm. The cheques submitted by the alleged culprit had bounced after which he allegedly fled Dubai.
The accused allegedly, borrowed 3,13,100 UAE Dirhams (about Rs. 53.61 core) on collateral security for purchasing and Audi car and Rs 45 lakh UAE Dirhams (Rs. 7.7 crore) for business investments in India, UAE, Saudi Arabia and Nepal. He had promised to repay the borrowings before June 1, last year.
However the repayments did not take place.
A few months ago, the company reportedly discussed the issue with the CPM leader, who promised to pay the entire amount.
Nothing came out of it, says the company.
The company further alleges that the accused five more criminal cases in various courts in Dubai pertaining to loans availed with nefarious intentions.
