POCSO Shaky, Unnao Rape Medical Report Says Survivor Is 19

In the latest development in the sensational Unnao Rape case that put  BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar in the dock, the medical certificate dated June 22, 2017 states the age of the survivor as 19 when the alleged rape took place.

The record  upturns the  claim that the girl was a minor at the time of rape.

The MLA has been booked and arrested under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act apart from IPC Section 363(kidnapping), Sec 366(abduction of woman) , 376 (rape) and 506 (criminal intimidation).

The medical certificate could now alter charges.

The girl had earlier claimed she was 17 when the incident took place.

According to the complaint, the girl was abducted on June 4 last year and taken to MLA’s house in Unnao where she was allegedly gangraped.

The MLA however claims innocence saying he was in Kanpur on that day.

In the light of conflicting age claim, CBI has asked the girl to undergo medical examination to determine actual age.

According to unconfirmed reports, CBI is likely to subject Sengar to NARCO tests.
