A 25-year-old man plowed his van into pedestrians killing at least 10 people and injuring over 15 in Toronto, Canada.
The suspect Alek Minassian was arrested in a white rental van less than 30 minutes after police received a 911 call.
Toronto Police Chief Mark Saunders said, going by the witness account the act looks deliberate.
Majority of the victims are yet to be identified.
The man is being interrogated at police headquarters and the chief said while all lines of inquiry remain open,there is no indication of terror link yet.
The Canadian prime minister Justin Trdeau expressed sympathy for the victims and their families and praised the first responders.
“We are monitoring this situation closely and will continue working with our law enforcement partners around the country to insure the safety and security of all Canadians” he said.
