Thiruvananthapuram : KSRTC MD Tomin J Thachankary will get firsthand feel of bus work today, as the DGP rank chief dons conductor’s uniform on May day.
Thachankary will issue tickets on Thiruvananthapuram – Guruvayur Fast Passenger that takes off from the capital at 10:30 am.
To do a thorough job, Thachankary mugged up traffic laws, electronic ticket machine, ticketfare stages, free passes and student passes rules on Monday and also obtained conductor license the same day.
“I have not been able to learn the trick of holding currencies adeptly between fingers like the conductors, else everything is fine,” he said.
During the trip, he will have food with the driver during lunch halt at Kottarakara stand. He will be relieved from duty at Thiruvalla where he will interact with the employees at the garage there.
Thachankary attended learner’s test and physical test to obtain driving license. Thachankary scored 19 right answers from a total 20 at the test followed by a license with 3-year-validity.
