Malayalam Compulsory From I to X in Kerala Schools

Thiruvananthapuram : The govt has readied the draft that will make Malayalam a compulsory subject in Kerala schools from classes I to X.

The Language Bill that received governor’s nod in 2017 was not implemented last academic year but will go on board now.

The rule will apply to CBSEE, ICSE and other central syllabus schools as well.

The Director of Public Instruction is entrusted for porper implementation of the rule.

Inspections will be carried out to see if Malyalam is indeed being taught in schools, an official said.
