Siddaramaiah Confident Of Winning Says Yeddyurappa “mentally disturbed” : Karnataka

Karnataka today registered 21.1 percent voter turnout till 11 am amid oozing confidence from political leaders.

“We are very-very confident that Congress party will come back to power with a complete majority” said CM Siddaramaiah.

Reacting to BJP candidate Yeddyurappa’s statement that he will be sworn-in as new CM, Sidaramaiah said “He is mentally disturbed”.

Polling is being held for 222 seats in the 224-seat Assembly as Election Commission(EC) deferred voting in RR Nagar due to alleged voter bribery and in Jayangara following death of candidate and sitting MLA BN Vijaykumar.

The counting will take place on May 15.

BJP Congress Workers Clash

Meanwhile BJP and Congress workers clashed in two places. The first took place in Badami and the second in Vaijayanagara.

Burka Brawl
A woman was stopped from entering a polling booth in Belagavi as she was reluctant to remove her burqa for identification purpose. She was later allowed after a woman official identified inside the cubicle.

Canvassing Vote Inside
BJP workers staged protest outside Booth No 58 in Karadigudda, alleging that polling staff at bhooth were asking people to vote for Congress candidate in presence of EC(Election Commission) officials.
