Kim “Serious” About Talks, But Summit My Fall Through, Says Trump

US President Donald Trump expressed confidence about North Korea wishing to engage nuclear talks but said he wasn’t sure if the June 12 summit would take place.

“We are moving along. We’ll see what happens,” Trump told reporters at the White House after welcoming South Korea’s Moon Jae-in for a meeting.

A high-ranking Kim aide last week blasted the national security adviser John Bolton who said the North Koreans would be expected to fully relinquish their nuclear weapons programme before receiving reciprocal benefits from the United States.

Following the incident, Pyongyang’s hardline rhetoric alarmed Trump administration.

Trump’s confidence of Kim coming around comes from his belief that the North Korean leader is shaky about leading his country into an uncertain future.
