Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev’s Patanjali on Wednesday launched swadeshi messaging application called Kimbho to compete with WhatsApp.
“Now Bharat will speak. After launching SIM cards, Baba Ramdev has launched Kimbho that will give competition to WhatsApp. Download it directly from Google Play Store” Patanjali spokesperson SK Tijarawala tweeted.
Kimbho will serve private and group chats with free phone and video calling. The app has multiple features to share text, audio, photos, videos, stickers, quickies, location, GIFs and doodles, according to its brief on Google Play Store.
Kimbho launches with tagline “Ab Bharat Bolega”.
Patanajali had earlier lined up for swadeshi Samriddhi SIM cards and tied up with Bharat Sanchar Nigam (BSNL) to foray into telecom sector.
The Swadeshi Samriddhi SIM cards can be recharged for Rs. 144 for unlimited calls across the country, 2 G data and free 100 SMSes.
The cards in first phase is being rolled out to Patanjali employees and officer bearers after which general public can purchase it and avail a 10 percent discount on Patanjali products.
“There are five lakh counters of BSNL and people can soon get Patanjali swadeshi-samradhi cards from there,” Ramdev said, as quoted by ANI.
