HC Orders Medical Examination To Ascertain Gender : Kochi
Kochi : The Kerala High Court on Monday ordered medical examination to determine gender of a 25-year-old who claimed to be a transgender.
The bench comprising V Chitambaresha and KP Jyothindranath were hearing a plea by the youth’s mother who alleged her son was being illegally detained by members of the community.
The youth when produced before the court expressed wish to live with the transgender community.
The bench ordered a medical/psychological examination to ascertain his gender before considering the case further.
