Expat Who Threatened Pinarayi Arrested Upon Arrival At Airport

Kochi : The 56-old-man who was sacked and deported by his Abu Dhabi employers was arrested at Delhi airport when he landed there today, 19 June.

A police team from Kochi will bring him to Kerala by train.

Krishnakumar Nair, a Kothamangalam native from Ernakulam district worked as rig supervisor earning 8,000 dihrams per month from his job.

Reportedly an alcoholic and self-proclaimed RSS activist, Krishnakumar posted a video in which he said he wouldl give up his Gulf job and return to Kerala in order to kill chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan. In the footage, he also showers abuses on Pinaryi’s family members.

Nair soon deleted the video which had gone viral anyway. Next he came up with an emotional apology saying he was under influence of alcohol at the time of making and posting the abuse video.

Following the incident, the  Abu Dhabi-based oil company removed him from job in keeping with the firm’s policy.

Incidentally, Krishnakumar was advised to travel via Delhi instead of direct flight to state after threats emerged post his viral threat.

Krishnakumar faces criminal charges for his act.
