ADGP’s Daughter To Face Arrest Says Court

The police driver assault case takes another turn as the court stated that the ADGP’s daughter is no different from any other citizen of the country and will be facing arrest. The court also added that the probe can’t be stayed. The incident pertains to an assault case registered against the Armed Police Battalion ADGP’s daughter alleging her of physical assault

The Backdrop

The controversial brawl took place on 14 June, Thursday when Police driver Gavaskar, attached to Armed Police Battalion ADGP Sudesh Kumar, was ferrying the officer’s wife and daughter to Kannakakunnu Palace grounds for their morning walk in the official car.

According to Gavaskar, the ADGP’s family members abuse staff members on and off and he spoke about it to Sudesh Kumar a day earlier.

Once in the car, the women questioned why he complained to  ADGP. They grew louder in their rage and at one point the daughter took her phone out hitting Gavaskar on his neck and shoulders repeatedly.

Gavaskar then pulled the car over and later sought medical care at Peerorkada Taluk Hospital.

While Gavaskar filed a case of assault endorsed later by medical report, the ADGP’s daughter filed a counter claiming assault on her the next day
