Sreedharan Pillai likely to succeed Kummanam as BJP state president

Kochi: According to BJP sources senior leader PS Sreedharan Pillai is likely to be sworn in as party’s state president shortly.

The official announcement is expected to be made in the coming week.

State general secretary K Surendran, PK Krishnadas, AN Radhakrishnan and MT Ramesh were in the fray and differences between party’s factions delayed the nomination up to now.

The post fell vacant after Kummanam Rajashekaran was appointed as Mizoram Governor..

Pillai served as BJP state president between 2003-2006. He suffered big defeat in recently concluded bypolls in Chengannur.
