Pampa floods, Pilgrims warned against visiting Sabarimala
Thiruvananthapuram: The Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) has warned pilgrims against visiting the historic shrine at Sabarimala as Pampa continues to flow above its danger mark.
The bridge taken by pilgrims to reach the shrine is nearly submerged and police have put up rope and metal barricades to devotees from nearing Pampa.
Pampa continues to flood from water released by various dams in the district including Kakki and Anathodu.
Meanwhile TDB officials said that the temple will be open for Niraputhari celebration due on Tuesday.
However pilgrims are restricted from the venue.
For devotees from other states, TDB has arranged stay facilities at Nilckal.
Incidentally the flooding has devastated construction activities at the foot hill with authorities claiming huge losses there.
