Authorities experience difficulty managing relief camps

Thiruvananthapuram : With more than 7 lakh people housed in 5,500 relief centres across the state, authorities are grappling with crowded camps with rescuers bringing in more people from places not reached before.

While shortage of water is being taken care of now with roads becoming drivable for tankers, overflowing bio-toilets at camps and health concerns plagues the administration.

Congress leader PC Vishnunath told reporters “Bio-toilets have been set up. In many camps they are overflowing. Taking care of basic needs has become a problem”.
