Woman kills 3 at an aid distribution centre in Maryland, US

At least three people have been killed at a drugstore distribution centre in Maryland, before shooting herself twice.

The incident took place Thursday morning at a Rite Aid support facility in Harford County.

According to police the woman was a disgruntled employee and shot herself in the head in a suicide attempt. Unsuccessful the first time, she shot herself again.

The suspect used a single handgun, Sheriff Jeffrey Gahler told reporters. The gunwoman is in custody and in critical condition in at a local hospital, he added.

Police officers did not fire shots during their response at the scene, affirmed the Sheriff.

Around 1,000 employees work at the distribution centre, where products are received and processed for delivery.
