Trimmed : Centre stops Kerala ministers from fund raising abroad
The Centre has foiled Kerala government’s ambitious tour, to raise funds for rebuilding the state after worst flooding in a century during in mid-August.
Only Chief Minister may go on his slated visits to meet diaspora, not ministers en masse, the Centre instructed.
CM Pinarayi Vijayan is scheduled to visit Abu Dhabi on 17 October, Dubai on the 19th and Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Umm Al Quwain and Fujairah subsequently. He will now tour these countries on strict guidance, issued by the Centre – not out in the media yet.
What has been stopped in the tracks are, visits by other ministers who were set to fly Qatar, Kuwait , Singapore , Malaysia, Australia, New Zealand, Britain, Germany, the United States, Cnada and Sri Lanka to raise funds.
