Kolkata : An Air India operated water tanker rammed into a Qatar airways plane early morning Thursday at Kolkata airport.
The Doha-bound Qatar Airways flight was almost ready to take off when the incident occurred. The truck hit the grounded plane on its belly. All 101 passengers were de-boarded and transported to a Hotel along with 12 crew and 2 pilots. No one was injured.
Preliminary findings indicate brake failure and the Directorate General Civil Aviation has ordered a probe into the incident.
In October, an Air India flight crashed through a perimeter wall at Trichy airport while take-off and flew 3 hours before the pilot was informed about the damage to the aircraft, and made an emergency landing in Mumbai.
