“Stay at home”; Indonesian ‘ghosts’ urge citizens to follow Covid protocols

Police in this Indonesian city has been dressing up as ghosts to scare people into respecting COVID protocols.

Curfews and curbs are being taken as a measure to control the covid impact on the public in different parts of the world. Awareness camps are also being conducted in many places. Al Jazeera posted the video of the same on Twitter.

Indonesian police say” By showing these ghosts and coffins, people should understand that coronavirus still exists. They need to be careful especially while going out of their houses.”

“The dressed-up ghosts illustrate Covid-19 victims. What we are doing is an education on Covid-19 protocols. We want to show the public how you could end up if you aren’t following the health protocols,” said Traffic police officer Saiful Ilmi.
