As a token of appreciation, these Airlines offer free travel for all Indian Olympic medal winners

India has performed well in the Tokyo Olympics and brought medals in various events in the Olympics. As a token of appreciation, a number of Indian airlines, including Go First to Star Air, have now offered free air travel to all sportspersons from the country who won a medal at Tokyo Olympics.

Go First, previously known as GoAir announced, it is offering free travel to “all medal-winners for the next five years until 2025” to celebrate India’s best-ever haul of seven medals.

Athletes at Tokyo could perform for India and brought one gold, two silvers, and four bronze medals for the country.

“The seven Olympics medallists Mirabai Chanu (weight-lifting), P.V.Sindhu (badminton), Lovlina Borgohain (boxing), the men’s hockey team, Ravi Kumar Dahiya (wrestling), Bajrang Punia (wrestling), and gold medallist Neeraj Chopra (javelin throw) will be provided free air travel for any Go First sectors for the next five years,” Go First noted.

Regional carrier Star Air congratulated all the Indian Olympic Champions of Tokyo 2020 and offered them a lifetime of free air travel.

Javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra on Saturday became only the second Indian to win an individual gold in the Olympics. With his outstanding performance, he could win a gold medal for India after many decades.

After Chopra won the gold medal on Saturday, IndiGo had announced that it will offer him unlimited free travel for one year.  The offer is applicable from August 8, 2021, till August 7, 2022.
