Tamil romantic movie 96 to be remade in Hindi; Producer Ajay Kapoor acquires rights

Some movies, even after years still linger in the minds of the audiences, and some of the songs, scenes in movies will definitely get a place in our minds. Tamil film 96, starring Vijay Sethupathi and Trisha is one such movie that got applauses across the film industry.

New reports have also surfaced regarding the film. Reports suggest that the film is being remade into Hindi and the rights of the film have been acquired by producer Ajay Kapoor. But no information has been released about the cast in Hindi.

The Tamil romantic drama followed the story of two high school sweethearts from the batch of 1996 who meet at a reunion, 22 years after they were separated. 

96 is a movie directed by C Premkumar and the movie also marks the first time that Vijay Sethupathi and Trisha have acted together. Every song and some scenes in the film were well received by the audience and along with that, the film was a box office success in 2018.

“The story breaks the barriers beyond the border of language and region, which urged me to remake the film in Hindi for the national audience,” the producer Ajay Kapoor said in a statement. However, the cast and director for the remake are yet to be announced. The official announcement of the cast and crew would be announced soon, said Ajay Kapoor.
