Alia Butt’s ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ to hit theatres in January 2022
The much-awaited Bollywood movie ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ starring Alia Butt in the lead role will hit theaters on January 6, 2022. After a successful performance in Zoya Akhtar’s ”Gully Boy’, the star actor is looking forward to her new movie ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ which is directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
The film speaks about the life of Gangubai Kathiawadi, who was a sex worker but later emerged as an underworld don in Mumbai. The film is based on the book ‘Mafia Queens of Mumbai’ and it is written by S Hussain Zaidi. Alia Butt is performing the title role and the film was supposed to release on September 11 last year but was delayed due to the pandemic.
Alia Bhatt has already shared a poster of the film on her Instagram in which she can be seen wearing a green traditional outfit, with a sharp look. Bhansali productions announced the release date and quotes on Instagram “ The wait to witness her power, strength, and resilience ends. Bringing to you a stem-winding story of #Gangubai Kathiawadi on 6th January 2022, in cinemas near you.
Alia also has many amazing projects that are soon going to hit theaters and some on OTT platforms. Apart from Alia Butt, the film stars Ajay Devgn in a pivotal role.
