Instagram introduces new feature; Users can now schedule an IG Live

The Facebook acquired app Instagram has revealed a new feature in the app that is largely aimed at the creators who use the Live function.  The new tool allows users to schedule an IG Live up to 90 days in advance. After scheduling the IG live, the users can share the news across Instagram to alert their fans and followers.

The new features allow the viewers to set a reminder for the broadcast. This feature will allow Instagram to be on an even level with other platforms with live broadcasting capabilities such as Youtube and Tik-Tok.

The IG live on Instagram can be an addon tool while using the app and with this new feature, the users can make their account fantastic for increasing interaction, engaging with users directly, providing news, and creating the brand, and so on. 

To schedule an Instagram Live, first, open the app and swipe left to right to open the camera. By default, Instagram sets the’ Story’ format, so swipe right and find Live. Then select ‘Schedule’> Set the name of the event > Set date and time. The Users will then have to share it as a post with an image. Viewers will be able to see the post, description, and prompt that contains the live link. 

The functionality will be beneficial for many producers as they will be able to promote forthcoming events. Creators may publish countdown tales and much more with planned Live events. Moreover, the platform has said it is testing a feature to show users of outages or technical issues directly on the app. This decision also came days after two outages disrupted Facebook and its services. The test will run in the United States and will go on for a few months, Instagram said in a blog post.

IGTV and feed videos will be combined into a single format known as Instagram Videos, revealed Instagram. It also disclosed a triangle labeled tab on the profile which plans to launch a new video soon. It will take the place of the traditional IGTV box logo and the upgrade will effectively improve how consumers view videos on the platform.
