Thalaiva’s action drama ‘Annaatthe’ releases in theatres; Rajinikanth film receives mixed reactions from fans

Superstar Rajinikanth’s most-awaited Kollywood action-drama film, Annaatthe, which got delayed the production in December 2020 is now out for the viewers by releasing it in theaters. The film hit the theaters on the occasion of Diwali and the film has been received mixed reactions from fans.

Despite the emergence of young stars in the Kollywood film industry, the impact and level of the style star have not gone anyway and fans have been waiting for his movie to hit the theaters at the earliest.

The movie, Annaatthe offers a lot of action and fun moments that any avid fan of a superstar can ask for. Flipping his hair or putting on sunglasses in his inimitable style, and his trademark swagger walk, are the much spotted and cherished on-screen gestures that any of his fans love to see.

The action drama, directed by Siva and bankrolled by Sun Pictures, revolves around Rajnikanth, playing the role of a village president/ leader who is also a protective brother to his sister. After the sister’s wedding, she comes out of her comfort zone and out of her brother’s safety bubble and later faces reality and truth. 

Besides the superstar Rajinikanth, Nayanthara, Keerthy Suresh, Prakash Raj, and Khushboo also play key roles in the movie, and absolutely it is said to be a star-packed movie. 

Reactions of fans have been posted on Twitter and one among them read, “Annaatthe is nothing but a mash-up of all the commercial movies that has come in the history of Kollywood cinema. Except for the intro song and 1 r 2 fight sequence this movie is complete crap material.”

“What an Energy…Charm… Charisma & Style….. Thalaivaaaa …..Thalaivar lights up every frame he appears & sets the screen on fire,” another post read.

Although the film was delayed due to the Covid pandemic, it was the most anticipated film of the year. However, The movie Annaatthe will also be screened in many theatres in Malaysia, Singapore, New Zealand, Australia, and the UK. The actor Rajinikanth recently received the Dadasaheb Phalke Award.
