50% discount on traffic fines announced in Umm Al Quwain as part of 50th UAE National Day

As part of the UAE national day celebration, Umm Al Quwain (UAQ) Police General Command has offered a 50 percent discount on traffic fines issued before November 1. The emirates Sharjah and Ajman have earlier this week announced the offers in traffic fines in view of the UAE’s national day, Khaleej Times reported.

Police have also decided to cancel the seizure of vehicles and traffic points for a specified period. Motorists can avail of the discount by making the payment between December 1 and January 6, 2022. The deduction is applicable for fines up to 31st October 2021.

Reckless driving that risks the lives of road users, Modifying a vehicle’s engine without a permit, Covid safety violations, etc are some of the violations that are not covered under the scheme. 

The smart apps of the Ministry of Interior and UAQ Police will give the motorists their respective offers. It can also be done via electronic payment on the website of the Ministry of Interior and ‘Sahl’ electronic devices, or by personal attendance to the service centers of UAQ Police.

In Ajman, motorists can also get their black points canceled and their confiscated vehicles released under the 40-day offer. In Sharjah, the discount covers fines issued before November 21 and the window for payment is open until January 31, 2022.

 Meanwhile, the UAE will celebrate 50 years of its Union on December 2. Nation-wide events and celebrations have been announced to mark the milestone event.
