Chinese man set a new Guinness record recently by covering his full body with 6 lakh bees. Soon after he set the record, the video of his achievement created a buzz over social media and it was shared online by Guinness World records on its Facebook post. The video shared by the officials shows that the Chinese man covered his whole body with bees of 6 lakh total in number. The new record set by the Chinese man has been named as the “heaviest mantle of bees”.

Ruan Liangming, a resident of China could hold 6 lakh bees weighing 63.7 kg on his body. These bees also included 60 queen bees. So far 70 lakh views have come on this video and this figure is increasing continuously. Users are commenting fiercely on the video, News18 reported.

As per a statement by Guinness World Records, Bee bearding is a ‘carnival act thought to date back to the 19th century’. In the process, the performer manages to place a queen bee on its body, which then attracts many other flying insects.  Interestingly, the performance of Ruan Liangming created a world record.

In Ruan’s body,  637,000 insects have been stuck, of which  60 out of them were queen bees. Ruan said, “The challenger must keep calm when dealing with bees. Bees will die once they sting you, so they usually avoid stinging unless they think you’re threatening them. If you notice that the bees are in an ‘unstable’ state of mind, you need to find the cause immediately or stop trying for the record. The person doing this work has to sense the mood of the bees as soon as possible, if the bees get spoiled then his life can be lost- Ruan added.

The video has garnered 70 lakh views on YouTube and the number is still increasing. The performance by the Chinese man took place in an Italian show and has gone viral now. During the attempt, Ruan stood steady, calmly with innumerable insects on his body. His eyes are closed and his lips are sealed. The team who is pouring in insects can be seen wearing nets on faces to protect themselves. However, Ruan is not wearing any.
