Reliance announces 1:1 bonus at AGM, stock rallies 4%

Apart from free 4G Phone and new unlimited data plan, Chairman of Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL), Mukesh Ambani, also announces a bonus issue at 1:1 ratio, to a jubilant crowd of shareholders

The announcement was made on Friday at company’s 40th Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Mumbai

Practically the issue means shareholders will get 1 share free for each share held by them.

Following the announcement, the stock rallied 4 percent to Rs. 1591 from its previous close of Rs.1550

According to estimates, this is country’s largest bonus issue.

RIL has previously announced bonus in the years of 2009, 1997 and 1983

JIO to Hit Market With 4G Phones Below Rs 1500

Wed, 3 May 2017 : Reliance Jio is all set to sweep the market, this time with its low-cost 4G voice over  VoLTE feature phones priced Rs. 999 , Rs 1500 to start with.

The move is to tide over a potential subscriber not owning a 4G phone plus to provide quite some additional features that existing 4G mobiles lack, like rear camera, memory card slot, LIVE T V, Video on demand etc.

The new range will continue allowing free calls that come with its game changer plans.

Reliance’s previous range of smartphones were introduced under brand LYF in 2016. The four models came sub-branded as Earth, Water, Wind and Flame.

Like the earlier models,  VoLTE handsets too  will run on  Google’s Android operating system and  come preloaded with free Reliance Jio Sim and Jio appls like My Jio, Jio Express News, Jio chat and Jionet Hotspot.

Telecom Operators To Beat Jio New Year Offer

Reliance Jio had taken charge over the telecom industry with its free and amazing plan. Even though many telecom operators tried their best to compete with the giant, they all failed miserably.

Now accumulating all their strengths, telecom operators like Airtel, BSNL and Vodafone are planning to make a major comeback through amazing offers.


Airtel’s latest offering has surprised everyone by announcing a new plan in which it will be offering free 4G data for 12 months (31st December 2017). It is not unlimited data, but just 3 GB of 4G data every month.

This is only for those customers who have a 4G mobile handset but aren’t on Airtel network. Once they switch to Airtel’s 4G connection, they will get the benefit. Even existing Airtel customers can avail this offer, but they will have to upgrade to a new 4G handset.

When prepaid users recharge with a data pack of their choice, 3 GB of 4G data will be added. Likewise, postpaid users can avail on all MyPlan Infinity Plans.


If a customer recharges for 144 rupees, then he/she can enjoy free unlimited local STD calls along with 300 Mb data. The offer will be valid up to 6 months.


Recharging your Aircel sim card with 148 rupees can fetch you free data and voice calls. The offer is valid up to three months. During the first month, users will be provided only with 2G data. In the coming months, users can avail the offer only if he recharge with a minimum of 50 rupees.


According to the new plan launched by Vodafone, if a customer recharge for 148 rupees, he will get 300 Mb 4G data. If his phone is 3G mobile and doesn’t support 4G, then he will get 50GB 3G data. However, the offer is valid up to 28 days only.
